Low Income Utility Rate Relief Program

PFD File   Oak Lodge Low Income Utility Rate Application

Effective May 1, 2012, Oak Lodge Water District instituted a Low Income Utility Rate Relief Program. This program will allow eligible customers to apply for a discounted rate for the service charge portion of their bill. Approved applicants will receive a fifty percent reduction in the service charge portion of their bill.
Applicants for the program must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Residents within the District;

The property served must be occupied and used by the applicant as his or her principal residence during the period for which a reduced rate is applied and the applicant owns no other property;

The account is currently in good standing with no outstanding balance

The applicant must not exceed the current gross annual household income levels established by the Clackamas County Housing Authority as that income level qualifying for Section 8 Housing Assistance;

Enrollment in the program will end if the applicant can no longer meet one or more of the above requirements

The applicant must make written application on a form provided by the District and must provide the documentation requested in the application. Rate reductions are based on complete calendar months and commence on the first day of the month following the date the application is approved by the General Manager. Billings will not be prorated for partial month eligibility.

Once approved, enrollment in the Low Income Rate Relief Program will last for twelve months. Because it is the applicants duty to reapply for the program annually, if the District has not received the necessary paperwork 30 days prior to the expiration of the twelve-month period the rate will revert to the standard service charge. The District will not retroactively adjust charges.

Qualifying Income: One person living alone: $23,750/year or $1,979.00/month; more than one person in one residence: $27,150/year or $2,262.50/month. ( The qualifying income is adjusted in January of each year to equal the amount designated by the Clackamas County Housing Authority as that household income level qualifying for Section8 Housing Assistance)
